Jordyalan Newsletter January 2010

Happy New Year to all our members, and a warm welcome to those of you who joined us over the Christmas holiday period. This is the first newsletter of 2010, and if you're new to us you'll find we send these every few weeks, whenever we have some news to report. You may not yet have had a chance to look through all our website's pages, and we thought it might be helpful if we used this Newsletter to highlight a couple of them.

Probably the first important page that should be read is our Border Collie RoadTest. This beautiful breed that we totally adore also needs some serious researching, this should be done so that everyone is fully aware of all the good and the bad!. We try to cover it all on our Articles & Breed information pages.

The second page to read is the Testimonials that have been kindly sent to us from owners of some of our precious puppies.

Then thirdly you can VOTE for your favorite photo on our Pet Photo Contest page.

Our breeding plans this year will hopefully be that we have a successful mating between Bert & Elsa in July/August,making late September early October babies!.

For us dog lovers this is often a time to recognize just how much our pets mean to us and our families.
We spoil them with doggy stockings full of goodies and maybe even a new blinged out collar

Litter 2007 Reunion BBQ

~ Litter 2007 Reunion BBQ - 25/10/2009 ~

On Sunday 25th October 2009 we had a fantastic reunion BBQ for our puppies from the March 2007 Litter.

We had four dogs attend and all their humans came along to enjoy a day of playing together and eating a great BBQ lunch!!.
This is the second reunion organized for this litter that has been set up by the wonderful Olivia who is the owner of the adorable Bandit (Jordyalan Leonardo Dvinci).
Many frisbees and balls were thrown throughout the day and the dogs really wore themselves out!,
I am sure that they all slept very very well on that Sunday night.

~ Jordyalan Beatrix Potter (Beatrix) Comes Home ~

We welcome home Beatrix from our Litter 2007 this week. Beatrix is coming home due to circumstances changing in the home that she has been with since she was 8 weeks old. Beatrix will be mated once she has her next season here, and hopefully will have some beautiful babies for her first litter!. Once she is all settled in with her Mum & Dad and Elsa I will post heaps of new photo's of her on the website!. The photo below is of Beatrix at four weeks old.

Jordyalan has mated our adorable
chocolate/white bitch "Elsa" (Dunwurkn Jordy Girl).
Elsa's Sire - Borderstrand Milo N Milk Dam - Wottapud Roki Road
CL, CEA & TNS Clear/Normal.

To a stunning chocolate/white male to Sire this litter, and his name is "Bundy" (Shamefulchoc Ferrero Rocher).
Bundy's Sire - Runderkrall Ferrero Dam - Charlstud Heavenly Miss
Bundy is from Deitmahr Kennels and is CL Clear/Normal by Parentage & CEA DNA pending.

The arrival of this beautiful Litter will be in late August 2009 if these matings have been successful.

Our waiting list is full so any questionnaire forms that are sent to me
will only be able to go onto our future litter list not for this expectant litter in 2009.

Well we are still waiting for our Elsa to come into season, we have everything ready and on standby as soon as she is ready!!.
We have her boyfriend picked out, and just can't wait to have a litter of Chocolate/white babies in the house in the not too distant future!!. As soon as we have a mating it will be announced on the web-site, I am just so excited to see this much anticipated litter!!.

We are still waiting for Elsa to come into season and are looking forward to a successful mating with the adorable Bundy once she is ready. We are looking forward to having babies in the house again soon!!.
My husband Tony does all the hard work for the puppies as my disease does not allow me anymore to be as hands on as I would like. I get to do all the paperwork and have lots of cuddles and he does all the rest (I love him so much for wanting to help me still keep on breeding this wonderful breed)

~ Sheeba (Fly) ~

~ Jordyalan Cocos Fly ~

Dam - Berringama Wandas Coco (Coco) Sire - Braeloch Wedgewood Blue (Bert)

Bert & Coco had seven beautiful black/white babies on 23/09/2006. We named them Rex, Fly, Ferdy, Babe, Sweep, Arthur & Dutchess. All named from the characters of the motion picture BABE. Fly was adorable and turned into one of the loveliest dogs we have ever produced. She went to a wonderful family that had a small farm with lots for her to do every day!. I got the dreaded phone call telling me of the tragic death of our much loved girl Fly (Sheeba) on the 4th March 2009. Our Fly was killed in front of her property in a truck accident, she was apparently protecting her property from stray dogs that had been roaming around outside of the main gates for a few days. Her owner Peter blamed himself for not closing the main gates at night but Sheeba had never not once left the boundaries of her beloved property without her master being with her. So we say goodbye to our beautiful girl Fly and hold her in our hearts for all eternity.

RSPCA Shelters and Inspectors have been working around the clock to provide emergency assistance to animals effected by the bushfires. This has been a totally horrific event in our state and we need your help!.

~ February News ~

~ Jordyalan's February News ~

Well the time has come for our babies to leave home!....
This litter has been such a joy to own, our little Liln, Lucy, Jadis, Miraz, Lamby and my adorable baby boy Aslan. On Saturday the 7th February four families will make the trip to our home to collect their bundles of joy!. We are taking the last two for a 5 hour drive on Sunday the 8th February to do a puppy pick-up at Cooma with their new families. It will be hard to say good-bye to them as I have fallen totally in love with them all (I do it every time!!). Our Elsa, Coco and Bert won't even blink an eyelid, as all they care about is getting their old routine (and toys!!) back!!. We have not made any firm plans yet about when we will have our next litter, but I do think we may take a little break and think about it again at the end of this year 2009 (it will be a choc on choc litter though).

Our beautiful babies are just fantastic and growing like weeds!, they are now big kids outside and they love it!!. Where have the last four weeks gone???

They all have wonderful homes to go to but it is a bitter sweet moment for us when they leave home. This is because we love them so much and want to keep them all, but we know we just can't and therefore feel really blessed that they have beautiful families that are taking them into their homes. Some are going as family companions and some as agility kids, but one baby girl Liln is going to be a Dam at another breeders kennel in N.S.W. Keep checking our site for more new photo's and updates of these puppies as they grow!!.

Puppies Have Arrived!

Hello to everyone,

We have babies!! They arrived late Sunday night and Monday morning Dec 15th (early!)......

(they were also born when we had a power cut for hours on end!!, great whelping by torchlight!!)

We had five beautiful baby girls and only one bouncing baby boy!! All are black/white & have beautiful markings.
Mum and babies doing well and Dad is over the moon!!.

Our great news this month is that our Elsa is having babies!!, we have had confirmation by Ultrasound and the babies are due on December 16th 2008. See our litter 2008 page on our site for updates.

Hello Doggy Friends, and welcome to another Jordyalan Border Collies Newsletter Update.

Wow, September flew by, didn't it? I can't believe it is the second of October already!. It has started to become a little bit warmer now, especially at night, and I can't wait for daylight savings to start this weekend!!.

While I am also still trying to get over how old I feel this Month, it is all because my baby girl Brydie is turning 21 on the 24th October!!. I intend to make this Month a 21st Birthday Celebration Month for all Dog/Pet Lover's out there!!. I am also really excited this Month as we are planning our next two upcoming litters. The first will be very soon using our Bert (Braeloch Wedgewood Blue) over Belle (Islandskye Blue Belle) a November/December mating. This is a repeat mating as their last litter together was just exceptional, and Dianne Belle's owner is hoping to keep a beautiful blue bitch out of this litter as a new addition to her kennel & her conformation showing program. Our second planned litter is once again using our Bert, but using him over our adorable choc/white bitch Elsa (Dunwurkn Jordy Girl). This will be Elsa'a first litter so we are very excited to see what she may produce for us (we could get blues, chocolates, tri-colour or black/white??) we are also 100% sure her adorable temperament & great agility skill genes will be passed on to all of her future progeny. Now that our Bert is also a proven colour producer and the fact that all of his progeny so far have his unbelievable temperament. We feel very confident that the breeding program we now have in place is taking our kennel into the right and correct direction towards only bettering and benefiting the health, type and temperament of this fabulous breed of ours!!.

Hello to all our wonderful doggy friends!!

Our August 2008 Newsletter - Jordyalan has been working hard at our BC training school with our Elsa & Coco (Bert will get to go soon! we haven't forgotten him, we just need more hands!!). The girls are learning new tricks and are using lots of great new agility equipment that they have never seen before!. Elsa is of course a natural due to her wonderful breeding background, but I was amazed at how our Coco seemed to really enjoy herself doing something so different.

Our next move is to go to a herding clinic, boy that will be great to see the real Border Collie come out in our dogs!!.

Our new shop is open and our talented artist Ang is already working on some great new designs to add to our list, see our shop here.

~ Puppy News ~

Jordyalan Kennels has plans to mate Elsa with Bert in the first half of 2009, and also a repeat mating between Bert and Belle (all blue babies born May 2008, an exceptional litter) will also be done again in the first half of 2009 with Deitmahr Kennels.
